So I’ve been busy again in SL- and then last night Nex introduced me to Plurk and this thing is so great. I wish more people were on it. It’s like Twitter but you can keep up with people without refreshing. I’m SO out of touch with everyone on my twitter, I just never keep up with it. Like I watched a video from March that was a response to the ‘I’m bored Twitter’ I sent out lol. It’s bad but I’ve kept Plurk open this whole time and I dig it.

It’s been a fairly quiet evening for me, I had spent time with my friends, even granted one of them an interview of sorts which you might see here if I can clean it up some. But tonight was a happy night because when I logged in after being gone for a bit (sorta forgot I was online), I received the notice from Fallingwater Cellardoor about some new shoes she had. Squee!

Now if you know me, my main addictions in Second Life are skins and shoes. It’s no real contest, skins win hands now but my shoes inventory is insane as well. So I hurried over to Shiny Things to grab the new shoes and I could not resist buying them all. The lovely Fallingwater was there as well so I took a moment to say hello and tell her how much I loved her new shoes from first sight. She also told me that she does plan on making more designs with this particular shape shoe, and I can’t wait to see what else she come up with.

Upon further inspection when I got them home and tried them, the most amazing thing to see was the skyline details. In the bottom picture, actually in all the pictures you can clearly see the buildings have shadows. Just another reason to love Shiny Things shoes, even while using sculpted prims Fallingwater never forgets to add the details that truly make her shoes stand out above all the others.

So for the past like 2 weeks at least I’ve been updating and working on my blog, something more spring/summery. I’ve finally done it. With the exception of adding more links and finishing pages, it’s done! Woohoo. Expect more post soon, and also a story! Yes. Excitement last night, not like woo guy excitement, more like oh noes, am i gonna have to evacuate excitement. Maybe that’s not really excitement. Anyways Bye!

So I’ve had a fairly busy life lately in Second Life, primarily since I’ve taken on quite a few jobs, as you saw in my earlier post from April 5^th, right. I’m not going to post about excuses or why I haven’t been around. I’m instead going to fill you in on a part of my second life that I really haven’t told anyone about. Most people probably do know that Emme was not my first account in SL. My first account is from 2003 and I had lost touch with a lot of people still on my friends list. Many of the accounts were cleared from the system from inactivity. Those few that were left on my list I rarely talked to. When I first started you basically ‘exchanged cards’ with everyone. No, it wasn’t like that, get your mind out of the gutter. I was never really the social one though, it was always my friend Molly that made friends real fast, most of the people I knew that first year were basically because of her. Molly and I had another friend that absolutely refused to try Second Life and the one time she went into SL, she got a box stuck on her head, we laughed and she left. During that first year, Molly and I went through a lot, we talked everyday on the phone, we worked really well as a team and I trusted Molly more than people who I had actually known for years in real life.

So basically I have been so bad about updating my blog. So when I initially left I was trying to finish up my blog, mostly looks, widgets and stuff, oh and the links. So now I’ve got most of that complete. I haven’t been creating so many pictures in SL, mostly because I haven’t been inspired to. I’m trying to get back to it now, especially since I’ve got this big project for Nyte’s store going on. It gives me a little room to be creative. I was hired by Cherry for her store to be her C.S.R Manager which is a very easy job, I manage everything on Google Docs so everyone can see the schedules. Oh, also I became a Photographer for Glam SL Magazine. It’s a fun job and I’ve gotten to meet some of my favorite creators. It’s also helped inspire me for my own photographs. The biggest thing though, is that it really introduced me to the amazingly beautiful world of Second Life® in Windlight.

Now let me just say this about Windlight, I know a lot of people probably think Windlight was a waste of time since there are other issues that they would like fixed before the “pretty things”, however I like to think that Windlight was something that Linden Lab has always wanted. As I told Nyte the other night, “it’s their baby” and I think that’s why they’ve pushed it so much. Thank goodness for it! With the help of Torley’s presets of course, oh and AM Radio’s ‘Nostalgia’ preset, I’ve come to LOVE IT. Yes some of the setting are very bright and they hurt your eyes, and having to set thing to ‘midday’ to view things normally takes time getting used to but the lighting is just beautiful, you can totally appreciate the amazing builds so much more. To add to it, if you’d rather not see things in a more realistic light- you can always turn you atmospheric shaders off.

Anyways, I digress- hopefully you’ll be seeing more posts and stuff from my shopping expeditions and perhaps I’ll even post some pictures on here, I’m just redoing my header and finishing my links and my blog will be 100% complete and I’ll make more time to post. Byes for now!

I’d have to agree with the sugar bits, I’m very cynical about love, well we can call it super cautious. Also I don’t like the fact that Valentine’s Day is made such a big deal of, couple wise. I’d rather be with someone who loved me consistently than be with someone who loved me lots and lots for one day. Does that make sense?

NOTE: I really did have a nice blog post set up, but apparently my blog hates me right now, so it decided to delete what I wrote and leave me with only the first paragraph (after working on this post for about an hour total), so the actual notes on each skin are slightly boring.

Okay, so there must be something in the water, oh never mind lol, I’m just a skin whore. The past three days, I’ve purchased 3 new skins. Now, normally this isn’t as big a deal but I’ve purchased new skins from Cake, Dutch Touch and Nora. This all kind of started when I noticed the new skins that Stumbelina Ophelia released earlier this month. Now I normally wear a different shape for all my skins, when I wear the Cake skins, I have a different lip shape. After I purchased the Cake skins, I tried on the Dutch Touch demos again and they looked so much better on me than before, so I bought those too. To cap off my skin spending spree, I bought the latest skins from Nora’s new Samantha line.

CAKE:

The Pearl II line up has 16 new sheer makeups and 22 smoky makeups. These skins were the ones I was always wearing before I started wearing the lovely Chai skins by Launa Fauna. I’ve taken a lot of pictures with these skins and they always look so elegant and smooth. The eyes are extremely striking so you can look dramatic without being over the top made up.

Pros on these skins are the wide variety and the over all smoothness of the skin. The cons depending on how you look at it- they’re not as ‘glowy’ as most of the new skins coming out these days, and if you choose to purchase them individually they are $L1250 each. However you can purchase rows of 4 skins for $L3000 ($L750 each then) or purchase the whole collection at $L23750 ($L625 each).

Dutch Touch:

I’ve always loved the look of the Dutch Touch skins by Iki Ikarus. I thought the skins were beautiful and the highlights on the face made it look very glowy but not overly so. I usually keep demos of skins in my Skins Folder and keep trying them for some time before I purchase them, with these skins, the only thing that kept me from purchasing them were the nose freckles. Usually what you see is when you purchase skins, there’s always a freckles option that would come with the regular skin, these skins however only came with freckles. So I was super excited when the ‘No Nose Freckles’ set came out. I rushed over there to take a look and there they were, unfortunately there was only one tone and a limited amount of make up variations (I would have liked darker lips), but I am happy with them. The price is reasonable as well, each makeup is $L950 each, there are 8 available for sale BUT if you purchase the whole set the price is $L5000 AND you get 2 extra make ups, bringing down the cost to $L500/skin.

Nora:

I saw this skin on the Fashion Feed tonight and I was surprised simply because I had tried the Nora Entice skins and found that they really didn’t work on my shape. These skins were really gorgeous and they looks so nice I had to rush over to take a peek. It was so totally worth it because these skins will probably become my ‘everyday’ skin. The skin is smooth with not too many highlights and the make up is simple and clean. There are some slightly more colorful make ups but even those are not very bright. The skin is also tintable so the 4 tones are very flexible. When trying on the skins, I happened to run into Aradia and she tried on the darkest skin. It was a very attractive tone, not just a darker shade of the other skin tones. But at the same time you could still see the details of the skin. The Pro’s about this skin are the make up is very simple, I think a lot of people will find these will work more for their avatars than the previous skins, the price is very decent- $L1000 per individual skin and $L2200 for a 3 pack. These are also available with hair on the skin and someprim hair included.

So overall- I’m extremely happy with my purchases, I’ve found myself a new skin to use on a daily basis, and I’ve found skins that will look so great in the new pictures I’m planning on doing. To add to all this, my best friend Nyte is redoing her Asian skins and she sent me a preview and they look so AWESOME! I can’t wait to see all the different colors and styles of make ups she makes. I’ll of course have them posted here when I get them.

So this morning, I remember uttering to myself while at work that I wish I were at home. Then I thought- “oh no, maybe I just jinxed myself.” LOL. Well around 11 something this morning, the owner of the dealership gathered everyone from my department together and while we were waiting for everyone to show up- I looked at Robert (the Service Manager) and said, “this is bad right?” and he gave me a slight nod. So basically what Randy said was that the dealership was doing all right in the service department but sales were not good and he was terminating the relationship with KIA. I can’t say I’m really surprised, according to my ex boyfriend and another technician friend at work, he was giving it a try until January. I’m just thankful that I got to come back to work and spend time working full time before the dealership closed down. Its just amazing how things just happen the way they do.

I’m sad of course, more than anything because I needed to get out of there so fast that I really didn’t get to say goodbye to all my friends. Tito called me from Hubacher Cadillac (the dealership that bought our GM Franchises) and I told him to call me tonight and I missed his call. So basically I’m paid up until the end of the month, I’ll need to use this time responsibly of course, find another job but not in the car business. This was a nice way to end it, since I really didn’t want to let go first. At least I’ve got everyone’s numbers and I definitely have to try harder to stay in touch with everyone.

No, not the food lol, the feed! So, I like many others I know, rely upon the fashion feed to learn about new products *shakes fists at LL’s 25 group limit*, see what everyone is wearing and generally get fashion related news about Second Life when I’m unable or too lazy to go in world. I’m totally crazy about checking the feed, when I’m at work I sneak online to take a peek at it. Well, lately I’ve had an issue with it.

There’s a huge over saturation of the Fashion Feed with bloggers- mostly review bloggers, around the grid bloggers, look-at-me blogger, etc bloggers.  I think there are more miscellaneous bloggers than there are fashion designers on the Fashion Feed. Which in my mind is so not right. It somewhat defeats the purpose of the Fashion Feed.  I’m not pointing any fingers or anything but perhaps there should be another feed where it’s only designers who can post the new releases and announcements. It’s really getting hard to filter everything.

I think the final straw for me was just recently when I saw something on the feed and I really wanted it. I tried to remember where it was but it was already gone. So sad. I literally visited every site that contributes to the Fashion Feed and I saw lots of pretty pictures, even some good articles but I have not located my blouse.  I know I may be totally over reacting to it, but take a look for yourselves. What do you think??

EDIT: So I just had to add to this because of certain people and my brother- I’m not an alcoholic (zomg took me 4 tries to spell that correctly), I’m just extremely knowledgeable about alcoholic beverages. Thank you! Drink & blog responsibly!

Looking for payday loans?

So in real life, have you ever gone to a store and were excited about purchasing something absolutely amazing and then were treated so cold or horribly that you thought twice about it? Now there is a certain item I wear in Second Life that I absolutely love. I mean, it makes me well, me. My main issue is the creator, I ask alot of questions, especially when I find something I love. I remember I once inquired, quite politely about this certain item of mine, and I got quite a terse, short response from the maker. It felt like a huge brush off. I’ve found that it’s just not me that gets this response, I suppose this person needs some help in the customer service department or they just don’t want to deal with customers. I just think that’s kind of rude to spend alot of my money there, then to get treated like they have no time for me. It’s not the cheapest place to shop in SL mind you. Oh well, I’m looking around more, hopefully this person learns some manners or gets some good customer service help before people realize they’re just a bother. Oh well.

Thoughts?

So I’ve had a lousy couple of weeks, well not too bad but they weren’t all roses and kittens happy.  A few weeks ago, I found out I had some medical stuff going on and that wasn’t so bad, my dealership sold off its GM Franchise- it’s okay cuz I still have a job, and on and on. Now the good stuff is coming back, last week Nyte asked me to be the manager at Nyte’N'Day which is a great honor because I love her and her store. So one of my first jobs as manager is to hire some new CSR’s which is coming along very nicely. I found out one of my favorite shows (CSI:NY- I just LOVE Flack) is going to have an episode that incorporates Second Life. I just bought myself a new Silver iPod Classic (I got my brother the new iPod Touch), and guess what else I bought that makes me just so happy?! SHOES! Yes, I bought some new shoes! So yeah, I’m just thrilled cuz I found out they’re going to be delivered today, hopefully or tomorrow.

I’m so freakin happy I could purr.

So I got this new planner today and earlier when I was looking for another planner, I stumbled upon my Weekly Planner from 2005. I was sure busy, well…sometimes, there are a few pages that I’m completely booked for every single day. then there’s 10 pages of nothing. Then more pages where I’m completely booked. Hmm…and then I stumbled upon a date that had “Coffee with Mark?” on Tuesday and then later that week, “Hanging out with Mark?”. So now I have to pause and ask myself- Who’s Mark?? Honestly, self I do not know. I just found that funny, i’ll probably remember some morning when I can’t sleep and then feel bad. HAHA i’m funny.

So Nyte, you requested a happy story about love or something. Umm…I got nothing.
